Attachment: IIR Chart - Planned 2010 Chicago-Area Spending

SUGAR LAND--January 27, 2010--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Nestled on the shores of Lake Michigan, the Chicago area has suffered greatly since the beginning of the recession in December 2007. High unemployment, plant closures and company consolidation have been the name of the game in the entire Great Lakes region during this time, and the Chicago area has had its fair share of troubles. One bright spot has been capital and maintenance spending in the area, which has remained fairly strong during the period. Looking ahead to the project activity currently planned for 2010, spending is beginning the new year slightly down from a year before, yet production numbers are on the rise.
