Brazil Inaugurates World's First Ethanol-Fired Power Plant in Minas Gerais
CORDOBA, ARGENTINA--February 4, 2010--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Juiz de Fora, the world's first ethanol-fueled power plant, was opened January 19 by Petrobras (NYSE:PBR) (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil). The 87-megawatt (MW) power plant was upgraded to be able to switch between natural gas and sugarcane-based ethanol feedstocks instantaneously.
