Hydrogen Producers Continue to Buck Spending Trends

Despite the pullback in major refinery investments in the past year, investment in new hydrogen capacity has remained strong, with a substantial amount of new capacity currently under construction and a considerable amount of new capacity still planned. Demand from refiners has been largely driven by investments in new hydrotreater capacity or technology modifications to process heavier or sour crude from Canada and other regions.
