Shell Formalizes Prelude FLNG Contracts with Technip-Samsung Consortium

PERTH, AUSTRALIA--March 16, 2010--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Royal Dutch Shell plc (NYSE:RDS.A) (The Hague, Netherlands) has formalized announcements made in 2009 by signing two contracts with the consortium of Technip SA (OTC:TKPPY) (Paris, France) and Samsung Heavy Industries Company Limited (SEO:010140) (Seoul, South Korea) for the Prelude floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) project off the coast of Western Australia. Shell and the Technip-Samsung consortium signed a master agreement in July 2009 to cover the design, construction and installation of an FLNG facility, with the option for a further nine units to be developed over 15 years.
