Ethylene Turnaround Activity Picks Up for Last Half of 2010
SUGAR LAND--June 15, 2010--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--The year began with a number of unplanned turnarounds for ethylene producers in the United States, at a time when demand was picking up. During the first few months of the year, this segment of the Chemical Processing Industry (CPI) dealt with 13 ethylene unit turnarounds, only six of which were actually planned turnaround events. This level of activity kicked off the year while demand was on the upswing, leading to some price fluctuations that are now settling out of the market.
