Food Distributor to Consolidate Central Texas Operations

SUGAR LAND--August 24, 2010--Reported by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Leading foodservice distributor Sysco Corporation (NYSE:SYY) (Houston, Texas) broke ground a couple of weeks ago on a food distribution center in Schertz, Texas. The company is relocating existing operations in Round Rock and San Antonio to the new site, including the 600 jobs at both locations. The new facility, which is estimated to cost $60 million and is expected to be complete next summer, will be Sysco's largest center in the country.
