Kyushu Electric Power to Expand Facilities at Genkai Nuclear Power Station
TOKYO, JAPAN--September 10, 2010--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Kyushu Electric Power Company Incorporated (TYO:9508) (KEPCO) (Fukuoka, Japan) recently announced that it intends to expand existing facilities at its Genkai Nuclear Power Station (GNPS), in the Matsuura District of the Saga prefecture. The expansion will include a grassroot spent nuclear fuel dry-storage facility, as well as a desalination unit addition. KEPCO also plans to perform a major re-racking for the spent fuel pool for the GNPS Unit 3 reactor.
