Dell to Close Doors on 900 Workers at Winston-Salem Plant
SUGAR LAND--October 6, 2010--Researched by Industrial Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Dell Incorporated's (NASDAQ:DELL) (Round Rock, Texas) largest computer-manufacturing plant, a 750,000-square-foot facility in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, will shut down production in the next few months. Dell had announced layoffs at the plant in March 2010, but gave no indication that the plant was in danger of closing its doors. A demand shift in laptops over desktop computers was a factor behind the decision to phase out the facility.
