Votorantim Cimentos to Construct Eight Cement Plants
CORDOBA, ARGENTINA--October 6, 2010--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Brazil's leading cement company, Votorantim Cimentos SA (Sao Paulo, Brazil), is moving forward with the huge investment plan announced last April that entails the construction of eight cement plants in Brazil. The construction of the facilities will require an investment of $1.47 billion. When operational, Votorantim will own 35 operational cement units in Brazil and will be able to produce 42 million tons of cement per year. Votorantim has awarded FLSmidth & Company AS (CPH:FLS) (Copenhagen, Denmark) the engineering, construction and commissioning contract for five processing lines.
