SUGAR LAND--Oct 25, 2010--Written by John Egan for Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--The North American industrial economy ended the third quarter on a relatively weak note. U.S. unemployment held steady at 9.6%, the 17th consecutive month that unemployment has exceeded 9%. Private employers added 64,000 new jobs during the month, but government employers let 159,000 workers go during September, resulting in a net loss of 95,000 nonfarm jobs for the month, according to the U.S. Labor Department.
