BlueFire Completes Site Prep Work on Fulton Project, Needs Final Financing for Construction

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--BlueFire Ethanol Incorporated (OTC:BFRE) (Irvine, California) has completed site preparation work on a cellulosic fuel ethanol plant that will be in Fulton, Mississippi, and is awaiting final financing before beginning plant construction. Century Construction (Tupelo, Mississippi) completed the civil work under a joint contract with Itawamba County and the city of Fulton in February, and nothing else at the site has moved forward since.

The company is working on financing and expects to receive additional funds from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. When the grant loan guarantee is in place and the project is fully financed, plant construction will begin.

BlueFire awarded Wanzek Construction (Fargo, North Dakota) the engineering, procurement and construction contract to erect the plant and install the process equipment. Plans call for the creation of a 19 million-gallon-per-year plant that will process biomass, such as green and wood-waste feedstocks, into fuel ethanol.

The estimated $300 million will be in the Fulton Industrial Park on Access Road, just north of Highway 78 near Port Itawamba, with access to the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway.

The plant is expected to be completed and fully operational by late 2012.
