Researched by Industrial Info Resources China (Beijing, China)--The environmental impact assessment (EIA) report for Yunnan Provincial Power Investment Company Limited's (Kunming, Yunnan) Xuanwei Coal Gangue Thermal Power Plant, prepared by Guodian Nanjiang Academy of Environmental Sciences (Nanjing, Jiangsu), was accepted by the Ministry of Environmental Protection on December 4, 2012, according to a recent announcement from Yunnan Sifang Yundiantou Energy Company Limited (Xuanwei, Yunnan), a subsidiary of Yunnan Power Investment.
The Xuanwei Coal Gangue Thermal Power Plant is located in the Fenghuangshan Industrial Park of Laibin Town in Xuanwei City, in southwest China's Yunnan province. According to plans, the power plant will be furnished with two 1,025-ton-per-hour, circulating fluidized bed natural circulation boilers, together with two 300-megawatt (MW), subcritical, extraction-condensing steam turbine generating units, and associated common and auxiliary facilities, including an associated, circulated water cooling system; a chemical water-processing facility; a dust- and slag-removing system; access roads; water supply; a coal handling and preparation system; a limestone warehouse and backup ash disposal field; associated environmental protection facilities; and the associated 220-kilovolt outdoor roof substation for grid connection.
For environmental protection facilities, the project will be furnished with: a bag-type dust remover; an inside-boiler limestone desulfurization; a lox nitrogen oxide and continuous monitoring system for flue gas control; life sewage and industrial wastewater processing facilities for wastewater processing; water-spraying devices and a bag-type dust remover for dust control in coal stockpiles and the coal-handling system; and a man-made geomembrane for seepage control in the ash disposal field.
The pre-stage preparation of the project kicked off in November 2009. With the approval of the EIA report, construction of the project will be ready to kick off shortly. In fact, site leveling for the project was completed in November 2012. The main equipment required for the project also had been awarded. According to the schedule, the project will be completed in 2015. Upon completion, the project will be the first large-scale coal gangue comprehensive utilization project in the Yunnan province.
