Job Responsibilities:

Position Summary

IIR Energy is in search of a student aspiring to a career in sales to join the team as an Intern. During this internship, the student will interact with clients to provide information in response to inquiries about products and services; handle and resolve complaints; assist on product usage and other general account management activities; as well as focus on key administrative and customer service duties. This is a great opportunity for an ambitious future salesperson to enhance their skillset as well as gain exposure to a fast-paced and innovative corporate environment.

Essential Functions:

  • Contact new and existing customers to discuss their needs, and to explain how these needs could be met by specific products and services.
  •  Answer and aid clients on the Member Service hotline.
  • Answer customers' questions about products, prices, availability, product uses, and credit terms.
  • Emphasize product features based on analysis of customers' needs, and on technical knowledge of product capabilities and limitations.
  • Prepare sales contracts for renewal orders, submit orders for processing, and arrange for billing.
  • Select the correct products or assist customers in making product selections based on customers' needs, product specifications, and applicable regulations.
  • Assist in preparation of sales presentations, emails, and proposals that explain product specifications and applications.
  • Demonstrate and explain the operation and use of products.
  • Provide customers with ongoing tier-one support needs. Coordinate or refer customers to designated departments to  resolve customer grievances and attend to customer needs.
  • Maintain customer records using automated systems and keep records of customer interactions and transactions, recording details of inquiries, complaints, and comments, as well as actions taken.
  • Check to ensure that appropriate changes were made to resolve customers' problems.
  • Miscellaneous administrative duties as assigned.

    Skills & Abilities

 Education: A High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required. Applicants must also be currently
    enrolled in an academic course of study at a college or university in the Houston area.

Experience: At least one year of experience in sales, customer service, or another related field is highly preferred.

Computer Skills: Strong technical skills are required. This includes the use of Microsoft Suite products and the ability to quickly learn new software tools.

Availability: Applicants must be available to work part-time (maximum of 29 hours per week) through the academic school year.
