...Hurricane Dorian continues to progress slowly north along the U.S. Atlantic Coast as a Category 2 storm, remaining just offshore and sparing any significant impact on industrial plant operations in the region.

Based on current predictions of the storm's path, 10 industrial plants in North Carolina could witness hurricane-force winds by Thursday of this week. Storm surge is a significant concern that will continue to hinder port operations along the East Coast as the storm progresses further north.

Hurricane Dorian has left 17 power generation units with a total generation capacity of more than 235 megawatts inoperable in the Bahamas. Bahamas Power & Light has restored power to portions of the islands, although damage to the electric grid system and supporting infrastructure continues to be a challenge that will require significant repairs to ensure long-term power supply stability.

Visit our Disaster Impact Tracker tool to track this storm event, learn the current status of impacted plants and units, and discover which plants could be most impacted as the storm continues to move along the U.S. Atlantic Coast.
