EPA Delays Deadlines for Effluent Limitations Guidelines

SUGAR LAND--November 20, 2017--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has delayed certain deadlines associated with the effluent limitations guidelines (ELG) for steam electric power plants. The regulatory action revises the 2015 ruling that applied to flue gas desulfurization, wastewater and bottom-ash transport water, and delays the ruling's compliance date from November 2018 to November 2020. The delay will provide relief to the Power Industry while the EPA revisits some of the rule's requirements.
