U.S. Gulf Coast Refineries Brace for Hurricane, an Industrial Info Market Brief

U.S. Gulf Coast Refineries Brace for Hurricane, an Industrial Info Market Brief

Attachment: gordon1

Industrial Info continues to monitor any impact to Gulf Coast refineries due to the approach of Tropical Storm Gordon, which is expected to strengthen to a Category 1 hurricane before it makes landfall later today. A hurricane warning was in effect from the mouth of the Pearl River at the Louisiana-Mississippi border to the Alabama-Florida border. Hunt Refining Company's (Tuscaloosa, Alabama) 10,000-barrel-per-day Sandersville refinery in Mississippi currently remains operational. A decision will be made later today whether to close the refinery ahead of the storm. Other refineries indicated they had no current plans to change operations.
