European Ethylene Market Sees New Investments, an Industrial Info Market Brief
The European ethylene market is in the limelight following a number of new investments announced by some market players. INEOS announced plans for new projects in northern Europe; the location will be revealed in the coming days at a value of 2.7 billion euros, comprising an ethane-based cracker and a propane dehydrogenation (PDH) plant. There are grassroot options and possible expansions of existing facilities being considered.
INEOS has approved an ethylene capacity increase at its Grangemouth Plant in Scotland. A new furnace will be fed by ethane and is expected to start commercial production in late 2020 or early 2021.
