Many metals and minerals companies in the path of Tropical Storm Barry are carefully monitoring the situation, but were proceeding with normal operations at this time.

Barry is expected strengthen to a hurricane before making landfall early Saturday on the Louisiana coast. In addition to high winds, it was expected to cause a storm surge and bring 10 to 20 inches of rain over south-central and southeast Mississippi, with isolated maximum amounts of 25 inches.
