SUGAR LAND--October 15, 2019--Written by John Egan for Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--The lights have come back on for PG&E's customers in northern and central California, but customer anger is unlikely to dim over last week's decision by the utility to initiate preemptive blackouts as a way to prevent wildfires. Whatever legal or regulatory responses may follow the utility's decision to turn off the lights for an estimated 800,000 customers last week, it seems customer interest in microgrids will increase.
