Canada's Wapahki Energy Delays Canapux Blending Plant Due to COVID-19, an Industrial Info Market Brief

Canada

Attachment: Canada

Oil and gas company Wapahki Energy has delayed its plans for a new pilot plant in Lac La Biche, Alberta, which is designed to produce CanaPux -- bricks made from a blend of bitumen and plastic -- due to COVID-19. The blending makes it easier to transport the bitumen. The pilot plant will have a capacity of 10,000 barrels per day, with a 50,000-barrel-per-day commercial facility of 50,000 barrels per day to follow. The pilot plant has an estimated total investment value of $40 million.
