Pemex's Cadereyta Refinery Maintains Operations After Hurricane Hanna, an Industrial Info Market Brief
Attachment: Map
Mexico's state-owned refiner, Pemex Transformacion Industrial (Pemex TRI), maintained operations at its 270,000-barrel-per-day (BBL/d) Cadereyta Refinery despite Hurricane Hanna, which made landfall in the region on July 26. The refinery was the only downstream facility in Mexico that was in the storm's path.
The refinery continues running at lower rates due to inventory controls related to company finances. The 120,000-BBL/d Combinada 1 (Crude 1) is offline and the 150,000-BBL/d Combinada 2 (Crude 2) is running at 120,000-BBL/d.
