SUGAR LAND--August 27, 2020--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Hurricane Laura came ashore as a very strong Category 4 storm, taking out power for most everyone in the area, downing tall structures, destroying buildings and flooding roadways with storm surges. More than 310 industrial plants in the immediate area of the storm's landfall have been confirmed offline as a result of the hurricane, and approximately 300 offshore platforms remain offline as damage assessments get underway.
