CORDOBA, ARGENTINA-April 12, 2021--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--The Chilean government has closed the nation's borders until May 1 due to a sharp increase in COVID-19 cases. Chilean citizens and foreign residents are prohibited from leaving or returning to the country. In addition all truckers must present a negative PCR test carried out within 72 hours before entering the country, according to the local newspaper, La Tercera.
Chile is the world's largest copper exporter and the restriction of border closures has caused an increase in the value of the commodity.
