Japan's ENEOS Corporation Plans to Demolish Two Refineries

KOFU, JAPAN--December 6, 2021--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--ENEOS Corporation (Tokyo, Japan) has decided it will stop operations on one of two crude distillation units (CDUs), the 120,000-barrel-per-day (BBL/d) CDU 1, and related secondary units, at its 270,000-BBL/d Negishi Refinery, in October 2022. This comes after ENEOS permanently closed its Osaka Refinery in October 2020. The company plans to demolish the two refineries within six years, but is currently considering the cost and timing.
