EIA: Renewable Generation to Dip in 2018, Bounce Back in 2019 on Hydropower
SUGAR LAND--January 12, 2018--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) says it expects total domestic generation from renewables to drop 3% in 2018, then to increase 7% in 2019. The initial dip is attributed largely to hydropower, which is expected to drop 12% in 2018, then jump 2% in 2019. By comparison, renewable energy from non-hydropower (largely wind and solar) is forecast to grow 3% in 2018 and 9% in 2019, according to the EIA's Short-Term Energy Outlook.
