The Middle East is a very important region for chemical production, producing a significant portion of fertilizer and exporting it to many countries. Fertilizer chemicals include urea, ammonia, phosphates, and nitrogen- and phosphorus-based chemicals. Currently Industrial Info is tracking 22 capital projects for urea production with an estimated value of about $8.2 billion in the Middle East. These projects are likely to be complete in next few years. Iran leads with 11 projects with an investment of more than $3 billion.
