Germany Sees Boost in Electric Vehicle Battery Market, an Industrial Info Market Brief
As a part of its Climate Protection Program 2030, Germany is focusing on increasing the number of electric vehicles on its roads six fold. This makes battery research a priority, with a target of 1 million electric car charging stations across the country. In response to changes in electric battery materials, demand for lithium hydroxide will grow.
Accordingly, AMG Advanced Metallurgical Group has started construction of a lithium hydroxide refining plant in Elsteraue, Germany. The plant will help meet electric vehicle battery market demand for high quality "battery grade" lithium hydroxide. AMG Lithium also has established a lithium hydroxide and battery materials laboratory in Frankfurt-Hoechst.
