U.S. Sees Record Solar Panel Shipments

September 6, 2022--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--In its latest Annual Photovoltaic Module Shipments Report, the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) reports that U.S. shipments of solar modules rose to a record 28.8 million kilowatts in 2021. The shipments include imports, exports and domestically produced and shipped panels. According to the EIA, about 80% of the shipped panels were imports, primarily from Asia.

However, domestic solar panel production in the U.S. may be on the rise. The recently passed Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) includes new tax credits for U.S.-made solar products.
