Eletrobras to Sell Six Distribution Subsidiaries in Brazil

The Brazilian government has allowed state-owned power utility Eletrobras to call for tenders next month to sell six of its distribution subsidiaries. The companies operate in the states of Acre, Alagoas, Amazonas, Roraima, Rondonia and Piaui. Eletrobras' installed base is close to 42.5 gigawatts (GW), with a predominance of renewable power sources, and the company has investment portfolio in capital projects exceeding $25 billion.
