Attachment: T&D
Industrial Info is tracking more than 400 Transmission and Distribution (T&D) projects that are planned to start construction this year in Latin America. These projects represent an aggregated investment of over $8 billion and include the construction of new infrastructure in substations and transmission and distribution lines as well as modernization and expansion of existing infrastructure.
In Mexico and Brazil lead in T&D investments, with $2 billion each. They are followed by Argentina ($1.4 billion, Chile ($720 million) and Panama ($612 million). These countries are experiencing large investment in the renewable energy sectors, creating the need for new T&D infrastructure connecting remote areas where solar, hydro and wind facilities are being connected to urban consumption centers.
