The total ramifications from the U.K.'s vote to withdraw from the EU, commonly referred to as "Brexit," are still unknown. On the other hand, shortly after the 2017 withdrawal vote, the European Medicines Agency (EMA) announced its intent to move from London, where it was established in 1995. Amsterdam was selected out of 19 locations submitted by the 27 EMA member states. There more than 2,400 active reports on pharma-bio plants throughout Europe, employing nearly 11,000 people, many with products overseen by the EMA.
