By the time first-quarter 2019 comes to an end, the Pharma-Bio Industry is on pace to kick off construction on nearly $14 billion worth of projects. In-plant expansions and additions lead the way as to project type, with 245 projects valued at $7 billion on the books. Grassroot, new plant construction is not far behind, with 69 projects representing $5 billion on tap. Planned activity includes everything from regularly scheduled maintenance programs to the launch of a $284 million bulk biological manufacturing plant conversion.
