The growth of e-commerce and consumer demand for faster delivery and better service has sparked an explosion of warehouse and distribution projects in North America. Industrial Info has identified 40 projects for distribution/fulfillment centers in North America representing more than $5.7 billion in investments. The recent announcement of a new fulfillment center in development at a shuttered shopping mall in Akron, Ohio, indicates that Amazon will continue to lead development in the e-commerce distribution field in the coming years.
