Indian Refineries to Boost Residue, Heavy Oil Processing by 2023, an Industrial Info Market Brief

Indian refineries plan to focus on residue and heavy oil processing to increase production of valuable products. IOCL, expecting commercial production from its $540 million Haldia Refinery in second-quarter 2019, is investing $1.5 billion for an upgrade project at the Mathura Refinery to increase residue production. The project is expected to be completed in 2023. HPCL and BPCL are respectively planning $1 billion residue upgrades and $655 million bottom upgrade projects at their Mumbai facilities.
