India's Paper, Paperboard Imports Decline as China's Increase, an Industrial Info Market Brief

A steep decline in imports of paper and paperboard in India will increase the country's domestic paper product prices. Imports declined 25% in the first three quarters of the 2018-19 fiscal year.
China's imports have increased by 122.3%, reaching 6.27 million tons in 2018. On the other hand, India's total imports of paper and paperboard declined to 1.1 million tons in April through December 2018, compared with 1.47 million tons in the same period of 2017.
