Trump Signs Orders to Speed Up Oil and Gas Pipeline Construction, an Industrial Info Market Brief

Attachment: Pipelines

President Donald Trump has signed two executive orders that he expects will speed up construction of pipelines and other projects to enhance the production and transport of oil and natural gas between states and across international borders.

One order directs the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to review and tighten rules to make it more difficult for states to delay pipeline pipelines by invoking provisions of the Clean Water Act. The other executive order would transfer authority for approving the construction of international pipelines from the secretary of state to the president, eliminating a lengthy State Department review process.

Industrial Info is tracking more than $60 billion in U.S. pipeline projects with future kickoff dates, with several key projects located in the northeastern U.S. that could benefit from the executive orders.
