General Electric to Boost Energy Access in West Africa, an Industrial Info Market Brief
GE Renewable Energy's Grid Solutions business has signed two deals to build energy systems in Benin and upgrade three substations in Ivory Coast. In Benin, GE Renewables will design and supply the country's first advanced distribution and management system to manage Benin's electricity supply, which imports around 85% of electricity from neighboring countries. GE also will rehabilitate and upgrade three 225-kilovolt substations in Ferke, Man and Taabo. This project will help improve the electricity supply in the northern, western and central part of Ivory Coast.
