The Middle East is planning to add 587,000 barrels per day of fluid catalytic cracker unit (FCCU) refining capacity by mid-2024. Iraq plans to invest $2.6 billion to add 184,000 BBL/d capacity, while Iran plans for to spend $2.1 billion for 256,000 BBL/d in new capacity.
Kuwait National Petroleum plans to spend $600 million to add 50,000 BBL/d of new FCCU capacity, and Egypt plans to spend $400 million for a new 60,000-BBL/d unit by mid-2023.
