Nigeria is not ruling out sugar imports, despite levying heavy duties. Raw sugar imports are forecast to grow as much as 1% to 1.76 million metric tons in 2019-2020 to meet domestic demand. The African country hopes to attain self-sufficiency by investing in new and expanded mills.
