A magnitude-5.5 earthquake that hit eastern Japan today has not affected operations at nearby facilities, which include refineries and two chemical processing plants. Three refineries and the chemical plants are owned by JXTG Nippon Oil & Energy, while Cosmo Oil Company owns two area refineries.
