Nickel miners in the southern island of the Philippines were struck by a recent 5.9-magnitude earthquake. Multiple landslides were reported following the event, delaying open-pit, direct-shipping ore operations for one or two days. About five nickel mines, a power substation, and a manufacturing plant were within the vicinity of the tremor.
