NavigatIIR: Key U.S. Refineries Prepare for Multiple Shutdowns in Fourth Quarter

SUGAR LAND--September 25, 2019--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--U.S. refiners are preparing for maintenance-related turnarounds at several key facilities in the fourth quarter, with the bulk of the activity set for October. Refiners are preparing to temporarily halt 8.5% of the total U.S. distillation capacity--about 1.6 million barrels per day (BBL/d)--during the autumn months--about 400,000 barrels down from the same period last year, according to IIR Energy. Industrial Info is tracking about $240 million worth of maintenance-related turnarounds across nine U.S. refineries that are set to kick off from October through December.
