Mexico continues to invest in the automotive sector, which includes vehicle assembly plants that produce cars, light trucks, buses and commercial heavy-duty trucks, as well as tier suppliers that produce automotive parts.
Industrial Info is tracking 137 active projects in Mexico's automotive sector, worth more than $5.5 billion, that are planned to kick off in 2020. These include grassroot assembly plants or parts manufacturing, and upgrades, expansions and modernizations of existing plants. Guanajuato State leads in the number of projects, while Puebla leads in project spending.
