China's Power Consumption Up Year Over Year, an Industrial Info Market Brief
China's overall social power consumption reached 602 billion kilowatt hours (kWh) in September, an increase of 4.4% year over year, according to China's National Energy Administration (NEA).
Power consumption by the "first industry" (agriculture, forestry, fishing, mining, and oil and gas production) reached 7.7 billion kWh, an increase of 5.8%; the "second industry" (manufacturing) reached 377.4 billion kWh, up 3.6%; and the "third industry" (services) reached 110.6 billion kWh, a jump of 8.5%. Consumption by urban and township residential households reached 106.3 billion kWh, up 3.3%.
For the first nine months of this year, China's accumulative power consumption reached 5,344.2 billion kWh, an increase of 4.4%. Power consumption by the "first industry" reached 58.1 billion kWh, an increase of 4.7%; the "second industry" reached 3,585.7 billion kWh, an increase of 3.0%; and the third industry reached 899.4 billion kWh, a jump of 8.7%. Consumption by urban and township residential households reached 801 billion kWh, a jump of 6.3%.
