Offtake Agreements Not Considered as Crucial in New LNG Market, an Industrial Info Market Brief
Companies continue to plan and file permits to construct Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) production and export facilities in North America. Gone are the days when a company would not move forward without a 20-year offtake agreement in place. That strategy has been replaced with offering investment opportunity in production facility, pipeline or gas production. The cost per LNG ton has drastically fallen, in some cases by two-thirds, for some projects to attract potential investors.
