Kazakhstan Plans to Become Exporter of Polymers by 2025, an Industrial Info Market Brief

In 2018, Kazakhstan increased its imports of polyethylene by 10% and reduced its import of polypropylene by 9%, compared with 2017. The rate of domestic demand for base polymers is slowly recovering after the devaluation of the local currency in 2015-16. The new strategy of Kazakhstan focuses on processing hydrocarbons into polymers and turning the country from an importer to an exporter in this sector. The government is supporting related projects and providing the necessary assistance for speedy implementation.
