Crude oil production in China was 190 million metric tons in 2019, up 0.8% over production in 2018, according to the National Bureau of Statistics of China.
Also last year, crude oil imports by China reached 510 million metric tons, up 9.5% from 2018. In 2019, Chinese refineries processed 650 million metric tons of crude oil, a 7.6% increase.
In December alone, crude oil output was 16.06 million metric tons, down 1.9% year over year. Average daily crude production last month was 0.518 million metric tons. Crude imports totaled 45.48 million metric tons, up 3.9%. Processed crude oil reached 58.51 million tons last month, up 13.6% from the same month in 2018.
