Middle East Refiners to Add More than 3,000 Tons per Day of Sulfur Recovery, an Industrial Info Market Brief

Middle Eastern refiners plan to add nearly 3,078 tons per day (T/d) of sulfur recovery unit capacity by the end of 2025. Egypt leads the region, with plans to construct sulfur recovery units capable of recovery of 1,023 T/d of sulfur. Iran plans to construct 984 T/d of sulfur recovery capacity, while Saudi Arabia plans to add 600 T/d of capacity by end of 2024. Similarly, Iran also is augmenting its sulfur recovery capacity by 171 T/d, while Israel and Jordan are increasing it by 70 T/d and 50 T/d, respectively.
