French pharmaceutical manufacturer Sanofi has confirmed it will reduce up to 1,680 jobs in Europe, in order to reduce costs by 2 billion euros (US$2.2 billion) by 2022 and increase profits, according to Reuters. The company currently employs more than 100,000 people worldwide.
