Petrobras Invests more than $5 Billion in Buzios Field FPSO Projects, an Industrial Info Market Brief

Brazil's Petrobras is preparing biddings for three new floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) units to be deployed at the Buzios offshore oilfield. Contracts for construction of the three units, 3 Buzios 6, Buzios 7 and Buzios 8, are expected to be awarded between fourth-quarter 2020 and first-quarter 2021.
Buzios 6 will be requested under a charter contract, while Buzios 7 and Buzios 8 will be owned and operated by Petrobras. Including the under-construction Almirante Barroso (MV32) FPSO, awarded to Modec in 2019, Industrial Info is tracking $5.34 billion of project investments in Petrobras' development of the Pre Salt Buzios field in Santos Basin.
